MELBOURNE–We’ve just had a bit of a live cross to Liam at the World Cup final on our morning edition of Radio Australia’s Pacific Beat program which went down a treat. Here’s what happened…

South Africa’s Soccer City has celebrated the World Cup closing ceremony with singers performing melodies of local music from urban hip-hop to a cappella chorals. Former President Nelson Mandela waved to the tens of thousands of fans, drawing thunderous applause as he was driven onto the pitch.

The World Cup final between the Netherlands and Spain is underway and we’re joined by four-time World Cup visitor Liam Cosgrave live at half-time in the stadium at Soccer City. He’s speaking with Geraldine Coutts.
